I literally pulled up, scanned the QR code on the window and checked in, walked in and was seen in less than 5 minutes. It was fantastic. We definitely needed an urgent care in dripping springs and this one was great. Everyone in the office was very friendly and actually had conversations with you. We will be back for any future urgent care needs that may arise!

About Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Testing
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Testing is a diagnostic test used to detect the presence of human papillomavirus, a common sexually transmitted infection (STI). HPV can cause genital warts and is associated with the development of cervical cancer and other cancers. Early detection of high-risk HPV strains is crucial for timely intervention and prevention of potential complications.
Who Should Get Tested
If you reside in Lockhart, Texas, and are sexually active, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Testing is recommended, especially for individuals:
- Between the ages of 21 and 65
- With abnormal cervical screening results (Pap smear)
- With a history of genital warts or other STIs
Test Methods for HPV
HPV Testing can be performed using:
- HPV DNA Test: This test detects the genetic material of high-risk HPV strains in cervical cells.
- HPV Pap Test (Co-Testing): Combining an HPV DNA test with a Pap smear for comprehensive screening and evaluation of cervical health.
Interpreting the Results
The interpretation of HPV Testing results involves evaluating the presence of high-risk HPV strains in cervical cells. Positive results indicate the presence of high-risk HPV, which may require further evaluation, while negative results suggest the absence of high-risk HPV strains at the time of testing.
Importance of HPV Testing
HPV Testing is important for:
- Early detection of high-risk HPV strains
- Monitoring cervical health and identifying precancerous changes
- Preventing the progression of cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers
- Providing guidance for appropriate follow-up and management
Following the Test
After HPV Testing, healthcare providers discuss the results with individuals and recommend appropriate follow-up based on the test results and individual risk factors. Regular cervical screening and vaccination against HPV are essential for cervical cancer prevention.
HPV Testing in Lockhart, Texas, empowers individuals to take charge of their cervical health and make informed decisions to safeguard their well-being against HPV-related risks.
