It's not very often our gut reaction to a new airline promotion: “Wow, that's a wild promo.” That happened today as Scandinavian Airlines (commonly known as SAS) rolled out an incredibly lucrative opportunity to become a EuroBonus millionaire. Yes, you read that correctly. One million miles.

This offer comes on the heels of SAS joining SkyTeam and is something of a celebration to show off its brand-new alliance partners. After all, flying these partner airlines is how you'll wind up with a gigantic stash of EuroBonus points.

Here's what you need to know about becoming a SAS EuroBonus millionaire and a look at what could be one of the cheapest ways to land a seven-figure balance of points.

Earn up to One Million SAS EuroBonus Points by Flying SkyTeam Partner Airlines

Time is of the essence with this offer, so listen up if you want to earn up to one million SAS EuroBonus points. SAS' new offer is an extremely intriguing way to earn a lot of airline miles, and even if you're unfamiliar with the best ways to redeem SAS points, it's worth your time if you're thinking of planning a year-end around-the-world trip.

Simply, SAS will reward you for flying paid or EuroBonus award tickets on SkyTeam airlines. The points you can earn are based on how many SkyTeam airlines you fly:

  • 5 SkyTeam airlines, earn 10,000 EuroBonus points.
  • 10 SkyTeam airlines, earn 100,000 EuroBonus points.
  • 15 SkyTeam airlines, earn 1,000,000 EuroBonus points.

The upper echelon of this offer is what stands out the most. There are so many things you can do with one million SAS EuroBonus points. For example, you can book round-trip business class awards SkyTeam partner airlines from the U.S. to Europe for 130,000 points, round-trip awards to the Middle East for 140,000 points, the Pacific for 165,000 points, and so on.

How feasible is this example? Depending on your taste for flying economy, it may not even be remotely close to being feasible. But, all told, this itinerary totals $3,435 all-in. The value of the one million EuroBonus miles could easily eclipse the money spent on the tickets. However, booking such an itinerary would require a lot of time on airplanes and even more time on the road.

Now, about that last part… hopefully, you can burn some of the frequent flyer miles you've earned along the way to make your way back from Mexico City.
